The City of Weyburn (“the City”) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide Unidirectional Watermain Flushing (UDF) services for the City’s water distribution system consisting of a 99 km length pipe network varying from 4 to 12 inches in diameter, 746 valves and 363 hydrants. The Unidirectional Watermain Flushing (UDF) program will be defined as the flushing of the City’s watermain network through isolated portions of pipe in single directions, by closing valves and using specific hydrants. The major advantages of this method are improved cleaning of accumulated deposits on pipes, less required water than conventional flushing, and an impact reduction for customers. The scope of services for performing the UDF program will include the following three parts.
